Leeds United stand to benefit if Everton are successful in their pursuit of Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. The Dane spent a season at Leeds United before his move to Leicester City in 2011.
It’s been claimed in the English media Everton are looking to sign the Denmark international to replace the departed Tim Howard, and it will cost the Merseysiders in the region of £17m to land the former Manchester City man.
Since Howard returned to the USA, Everton have been linked with a host of goalkeepers, and recently brought in ex Southampton stopper Maarten Stekelenburg.
Schmeichel has become one of the top goalkeepers in the Premier League, and was key in Leicester City winning the league last season. The 29-year-old has made over 200 appearances for Leicester City since he joined from Leeds United.
