For the past few days, various claims from the Argentine media have stated that Brighton & Hove Albion are close to agreeing a deal with Rosario Central for Facundo Buonanotte.
On Monday, the midfielder’s agent admitted the Seagulls want to take his client as quickly as possible. The representative also stressed the two clubs are closing the details of the transfer agreement.
Later that day, Rosario Central’s presidential candidate, Gonzalo Belloso, revealed that he is trying to stop the 17-year-old’s move to Brighton.
The Argentina U20 international’s agent, Roberto San Juan, has used the example of Club Atlético Colón’s Facundo Farías, to advise Rosario Central to let the teenager seal a move to The Amex.
“I give an example. Look at Farías, who was worth $10m and a lot of clubs wanted him. Poor thing. If he had been transferred before this injury, his life would be insured,” Roberto San Juan was quoted as saying by El Litoral.
“Today at Colón, you don’t know what can happen to him. He has to wait at least a year for him to play again and another year for him to regain his level and be the same player again.”
“In football, when the possibilities come to you, don’t let them pass you by. Be 17, 18, 19 or 20, if the kid’s any good. If you close the number in the general context. You cannot schedule a game that grows and stays. You can’t hold back because of how the club’s economy is.”
It looks like the agent’s advice will be taken by Rosario Central as El Litoral state Roberto San Juan is ‘one step away from closing’ Buonanotte’s sale to Brighton.
