Celtic are ‘under instruction’ from manager Ange Postecoglou not to sell youngster Rocco Vata as the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City eye up the youngster.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb, who say the Premier League duo are among a group of clubs eyeing up the ‘shining jewel’ of Celtic’s academy.
Vatta, who is of Albanian descent but plays for Ireland, has been shining for Celtic’s B side, with five goals and one assist in 13 games so far.
He’s been a part of the Under 23 set up since he was 15 and recently shined for Celtic on the European stage with a goal against RB Leipzig in the UEFA Youth League.
They’ve been joined in doing so by Arsenal and Manchester City, who are also keen and following his development with interest.
None of them are yet to make a move or anything of that nature but Celtic aren’t interested regardless, with it made clear they ‘have no intention of selling’ the 17-year-old.
In fact, they are ‘under instruction’ from Postecoglou not to do so. The Australian manager does not want to use Vata in the first team yet, but it seems he is keen not to see him leave Celtic Park either.
At this point a €2m valuation has been put on the youngster, a figure Arsenal, Manchester City and the three Italian sides could probably afford easily if their attention turns to more concrete interest.
