Nottingham Forest’s new sporting director Filippo Giraldi has shared his delight at securing the job, and how excited he is to be working with them moving forwards.
Giraldi was appointed by the Premier League newcomers earlier this month after club owner Evangelos Marinakis looked to change things behind the scenes.
The Nottingham Forest owner is believed to have been frustrated by the work done during the summer transfer window, which saw 22 new players arrive at the club.
That’s proven to be a disastrous approach, with Nottingham Forest struggling early on and Steve Cooper openly admitting to problems finding both his best eleven and forming any sort of team cohesion.
He has since been backed with a new contract, with Marinakis preferring to change things behind the scenes and appoint a new team to lead things moving forwards.
“After leaving Watford I had a lot of offers, then came this one from Forest, which I immediately liked a lot, it’s an exciting challenge,” Fiorentina.it report him saying.
“And then Nottingham Forest is a historic club, you can feel it at all times and in every place. The most important thing for me is seriousness, and we are working on bringing rigour and discipline.
“I start from the assumption that the whole football world wants to come where I am, everyone dreams of the Premier League and I’m happy to be where I am.
“Of course, if it (an offer from Fiorentina) happens I’ll be ready. I am however very attached to Fiorentina: doing my job you are no longer a fan, that kind of passion wanes a bit, but I am certainly attached to it.”
