Torino have not yet abandoned their efforts to sign Dennis Praet from Leicester City and will return for him in January.
That’s according to Tuttosport, relayed by Toro News, who say the Italian club ‘have a little treasure’ to spend and are focusing on the Belgian.
They tried to bring Praet back to the club this summer after his successful loan spell with them last season but could not reach an agreement with Leicester, who instead decided to keep him in Brendan Rodgers’ squad.
That has not stopped Torino being interested in a deal, though, and several reports have made it clear they’ll be returning in January.
Tuttosport pick up on that and say that plan is already in motion, with the club planning to use the ‘treasure’ they secured from their business in the summer to try and ‘sink the coup’.
Their hope is that they will be aided by the player being devalued in the coming months, as he is not a part of Leicester’s plans at the moment.
Torino have ‘around €10m at their disposal‘ and while it would have taken €8m a couple of weeks ago, there is a belief that figure may drop to €5-6m.
At this point there is a ‘degree of optimism’ among the Granata management, who believe they can be successful in signing the Leicester man if they make an effort in January.
