It’s been a long time since Tottenham Hotspur star Richarlison started getting big love from Brazil.
By the time the player started getting famous and his irreverent style brought him a lot attention in his home country, it became inevitable to like him.
Besides showing great passion for the national team, the 24-year-old was acknowledged for joining social causes, such as helping people in need and encourage the vaccination against Covid, something the president did not do.
So as Richarlison scored two goals in Tottenham’s win over Marseille last night, getting emotional for finally doing that in the Champions League, there was some genuine happiness in Brazil that he finally reached that level.
As UOL columnist Bruno Andrade today features a piece on the player, he points out the importance the Spurs’ star has for the country, as besides everything he has done in the past off the pitch, he now managed to reach a new level in his career.
“He is fully aware of the need and responsibility to constantly pierce the bubble that allows and favours self-indulgence among his people. He is not an example just for valuing his own and suffering past-and so many others. He is what he is because he contests the present and especially looks to the future. His and all Brazilians.”
Should he continue doing that well for Tottenham, Richarlison now raises his chance of playing the World Cup for Brazil, which is another dream of his.
