Celtic’s Mikey Johnston is set to join Vitória de Guimarães on transfer deadline day.
This information is provided by Portuguese journalist Pedro Sepúlveda, who took to Twitter to say the winger will move to the Primeira Liga side on a loan deal.
As part of the agreement between Vitória de Guimarães and Celtic, the former will not have any option to make the 23-year-old’s stay permanent and will pay half of his wages during his temporary stay.
Sepúlveda further add the attacker is ‘about to arrive’ in Portugal to undergo medical tests with Vitória de Guimarães.
Johnston came up through the ranks of the Scottish champions’ youth system before he was promoted to their senior team in 2017. It will be the first time in his career he will be moving away from Celtic Park.

The wideman was left out of Ange Postecoglou’s plans since the start of this calendar year and made only one league appearance in the second half of last season.
He hasn’t featured for Celtic this term and a loan move to Vitória de Guimarães could help Johnston enjoy more game time this campaign.
