Chelsea are chasing Galatasaray goalkeeper Fernando Muslera according to AjansSpor.
Reports in the English press suggests Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is not keen on allowing second-choice goalkeeper Asmir Begovic to join Bournemouth, because he needs him as back-up keeper until the end of the season.
Ajansspor report if Chelsea let Begovic leave then Muslera will be a target for the Premier League side in the summer transfer window. Chelsea’s goalkeeping coach Gianluca Spinelli knows Muslera since his Lazio days and has given the green light to Conte to sign him.
Muslera has been a key player for Galatasaray since his €7.65 million move from Lazio. During his time in Turkey he’s won 3 League titles in his first 5 seasons, along with 3 Turkish Cups.
A plus for Chelsea is that Muslera has openly admitted his desire to play in the Premier League, recently stating: ”My dream is of course playing in the Premier League. We’ll see what happens.”
The Uruguay international’s contract situation might also be a concern for Galatasaray as it expires in 18 months, giving the Turkish giants a possible dilemma in the summer.
