Leeds United came from behind to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 in the first game of the new season at the Elland Road last weekend.

Mateusz Klich came off the bench in the second half to replace the goal scorer, Rodrigo, and his performance against Wolves appears to have had an impact on his immediate future with the Whites.

After Leeds’ pre-season win over Cagliari on July 31st, Jesse Marsch raised doubts over the midfielder’s future at the club.

Meczyki state that after the manager made these comments, Klich seriously considered to go out on loan to another club this summer, and the 32-year-old had an opportunity to join FC Utrecht for the second time in his career.

This was before the Poland international had a ‘very good’ game against Wolves, as, since then, there has been a 180 degrees U-turn with his situation at Leeds.

After the league game, the player had a conversation with Marsch with regards to his future and stability at the club.

It’s claimed the Whites manager told Klich he was needed at Leeds and ‘he would not be allowed to transfer’ this summer.

Meczyki state anything is possible before the window closes, but at the moment, it looks like Klich is staying with the English club.
