Atalanta have identified a replacement for Arsenal’s Nuno Tavares if they cannot strike an agreement with the Gunners for the defender.
That’s according Calcio Atalanta and journalist Michele Criscitiello, who say Empoli’s Fabiano Parisi is the alternative option the Italian side are looking at.
The website explains that Parisi is the ‘alternative’ to the Arsenal man, should negotiations with those at the Emirates end in a ‘deadlock’.
Atalanta have been keen on the Arsenal man this summer, with Tavares having been pushed down the pecking order in Mikel Arteta’s squad by the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko.
That’s led Atalanta to look at alternatives and Parisi is seen as the ‘viable’ option for them.
Criscitiello has a move negative outlook on the situation, stating that ‘there is no agreement’ with Arsenal for Tavares. That’s led to a ‘goodbye’ from the Italian side, who won’t accept a ‘dry loan’ for the defender. That’s led to the Parisi hypothesis.
His stance seems to be that Atalanta have grown tired of the negotiations and are looking elsewhere.
Live Londra – Tavares, non c’è l’accordo. Addio Atalanta che non accetta prestito secco. Ipotesi Parisi dell’Empoli. In caso di cessione Corsi dovrà versare il 10% (futura vendita) all’Avellino @tvdellosport @Glongari @AlfredoPedulla
