Always covering everything that surrounds Marcelo Flores, the Mexican media now has a reason to be mad at Arsenal.
This week, the Gunners announced the 33-man squad that would travel to the United States for that leg of the pre-season tour, and the 18-year-old was left out by manager Mikel Arteta.
This came after Arsenal blocked the player from joining Mexico’s U20 squad that would play for a place in the World Cup, using pre-season as an excuse.
The national team ended up having a disastrous campaign, which led to many people at their federation being fired, and the local media considers that Flores is one of those players who could have helped him to clinch a place in the tournament.
Even though the outlet is certainly overreacting, as his potential success in European football would certainly make him important for the national team, perhaps the relationship between the Tri and Arsenal could indeed change from now on.
