If Giaccherini’s season at Bologna might have done enough to earn him a permanent move away from Sunderland once the season came to an end, his performances at the Euros have guaranteed it.

One of the star men of Antonio Conte’s side throughout the tournament, the diminutive attacking midfielder impressed greatly with his movement and energy, to such an extent that teams in Italy are queuing up for his services for next season.

Bologna were interested in making the loan a full transfer, links to Fiorentina and Lazio have appeared in certain newspaper, but it’s Torino who are the centre of attention at the moment.

The Serie A side are probably what you would call the favourites at this moment in time, that is if Chelsea and Antonio Conte don’t step in (which seems very unlikely despite the player’s performances under the Italian manager).

Tuttosport have a huge article on this in their Tuesday edition, and say the negotiations with Sunderland shouldn’t too complicated, especially since the Italian forward isn’t part of the Premier League club’s plans anymore.

Giaccherini’s display at the Euros might have made his price go up to €4m, but Tuttosport reckon that could be negotiated down to a more affordable €2-3m.

Behind Chelsea and Torino are allegedly the aforementioned Fiorentina and Bologna, as well as AC Milan.

Giaccherini looks set to leave Sunderland, that appears to be a near fact, but his destination remains a mystery for now.

All that is known is he would like it sorted ASAP.
