The Portuguese media has good news for multiple clubs on Friday morning, and Fulham are among them.
Record report Sporting’s Joao Palhinha has ‘already said yes’ to Marco Silva, after the manager made contact with the midfielder to convince him over a move.
Fulham have been working to hijack this transfer for over a week, and the weight of Portuguese reporting now suggests they’ll be successful. Their first offer didn’t reach the magic mark of €20m+, but the second attempt did and that appears to have done the trick.
Record then go on to pat themselves on the back and say how they’ve got all the reporting correct. They reiterate that it was Wolves who first held the power, but they stalled, which allowed Fulham to move into first place.
Palhinha has been keen to get his future sorted out as quickly as possible and that desire has helped Silva convince him.
Fulham’s offer has been discussed verbally between the two clubs and will be sent officially in ‘the next few hours’, and then things should seriously get moving on the transfer.
Atletico Madrid are also keen, although it’s not thought they’d offer as much as the Premier League club. Nevertheless, that’s some encouragement for Fulham to hurry.
