Sam Allardyce, determined to turn Crystal Palace’s fortunes around, is desperate to bolster his defence ahead of the second half of the season.
According to FootMercato in France, Crystal Palace are currently looking at the possibility of signing Montpellier’s William Rémy.
The 25-year-old centre-back, used sporadically by Frédéric Hantz this season, has become a target for the Eagles, and his versatility could be of use to Allardyce.
Used either in the centre of defence, as a defensive midfielder or even as a right wing-back, the former France U19 international could be a cheap option to bolster Crystal Palace’s squad.
Considering the player only has a year and a half left on his contract, isn’t a regular in the first-team, and that one of Montpellier’s best players in Morgan Sanson is going to be sold for less than €15m, William Rémy shouldn’t go for too much.
We’ll see if this develops in the near future.
