Over the past few days, we have seen West Ham United be linked with a couple of strikers, which is a position the club need to address.
Failing to replace Sébastien Haller after the Ivory Coast international was sold to Ajax Amsterdam, the Hammers have had to heavily rely on the likes of Michail Antonio and Jarred Bowen to get the ball in the back of the net.
The need for a pure striker has been apparent for quite some time, which is why the club went after, or at least tried to, Darwin Nuñez in January.
The Clermont Foot striker has scored 14 goals and five assists this season for the Ligue 1 side, and has shown he can adapt to a higher level of league after the club’s promotion.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who explain that West Ham ‘tremendously appreciate’ his profile, and face competition from the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt and Marseille.
As for a potential fee, the belief is that €10-12m will be needed, which is highly affordable for a club like the Hammers.
