An important update on the future of Arsenal loanee William Saliba is today featured by French outlet RMC Sport.
According to their information, the defender has sent a ‘clear message’ to Marseille in recent days, and that’s that he wants to stay at the club.
Saliba is said to be feeling good at the Ligue 1 side, and now told president Pablo Longoria he should do his best to keep him at the club.
The problem, however, is that Marseille have no right to buy him included in the deal with Arsenal. So the French club must now engage in negotiations with the Gunners for a permanent move, or alternative.
Longoria is said to be happy with Saliba’s positioning, as he ‘greatly appreciated’ that the player took that decision. Especially because manager Jorge Sampaoli recently asked the club to ‘do the maximum’ to keep the defender this summer.
Still, it’s also said the negotiations with Arsenal ‘will not be easy’, so despite having the player’s wish by their side, Marseille should now make themselves aware of the Gunners’ demands.
