In the past few days, we’ve seen a few reports claiming Fulham are interested in signing Ecuadorian winger Gonzalo Plata.
With the player returning to Sporting from a loan at Real Valladolid, it was said Marco Silva would like to add him to the Cottagers’ squad for their next challenge in the Premier League.
It turns out Portuguese newspaper A Bola today features a story on this case, and they end up dismissing the chances of his move to the London club.
The outlet writes that Plata was not a request from Marco Silva, as the winger was actually offered to Fulham and other English clubs by his agent.
A Bola adds that Fulham don’t see Plata as a player who could feature for them. That’s why the representatives’ efforts to move him to the Premier League had ‘no success’.
Real Valladolid had a €10m buying option over him, which they won’t use.
Since he’s not in Sporting’s plans either, the Lions and his agents are set to work on a solution for him this summer.
