Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech could leave the Premier League side and seal a return to Ajax in the summer, according to claims from the Netherlands.
The Blues took the attacking midfielder from the Eredivisie winners in 2020. He has made 27 league starts and eight more in the Champions League since the start of the 2020/21 season.
This term, the Moroccan has been in and out of Chelsea’s squad in the league, and has four goals and three assists to his name from 21 matches.
Ziyech’s current deal runs down in 2025. However, he could make a move away from the west London club after this campaign as he is unhappy with life in England, according to NOS.
“A return of Ziyech to Ajax would of course be possible with this trainer, who has very good contact with him,” NOS journalist Arno Vermeulen said, relayed by Voetbal Primeur.
“Ziyech is not very happy in England, so that can help. Alfred Schreuder, who becomes Ajax trainer, can open the door for Ziyech if he wants to come back to Ajax for less money than at Chelsea.”
