Napoli have received ‘no suitable offers’ for Kalidou Koulibaly over the last ‘two seasons’ since Manchester City came with a €100m bid.

That’s according to Il Mattino and they have a report focusing on his future at the Naples club beyond this season.

Manchester City are among the clubs said to be in the picture for the 30-year-old.

The centre-back’s current deal runs down in 2023, but his ‘future is a puzzle’. He is aware the need to sit down with the Serie A side, to ‘talk about his renewal and his future’, once the season is completed.

Napoli are not ready to offer discounts and will not negotiate the Senegal international’s sale without an offer less than €45m. He is also not ready to fight with Aurelio De Laurentiis to get a move away from the club.

Il Mattino states ‘he is a golden boy’, who is aware the importance of the Italian club in his growth. Therefore, ‘every decision will be agreed with De Laurentiis, with whom there is a sort of iron pact’.

Koulibaly’s agent Fali Ramadani will have a meeting with Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli at the end of this month. The Serie A side ‘will wait for the offer which one cannot say no’, but in the meantime, they will also open talks for a new deal.

The defender is ‘irreplaceable’ for Luciano Spalletti, but his current salary is ‘considered astronomical’. The new contract for the defender would include a pay cut. The question is whether the player will accept this.

Napoli, for their part, will evaluate if there is an offer for the African. When talking about his suitors, Pep Guaridola’s side are tagged.

It’s claimed Barcelona, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have ‘already knocked on Ramadani’s door and tested the ground’ to sign Koulibaly. However, none of them, including the Citizens have approached De Laurentiis.

Il Mattino further states: ‘Napoli will not raise walls, but it is clear that we are not facing a revolution: some of the big names will go away, but not all the big names will be sold. Everything will depend on the requests’.
