Antonio Rudiger and his representative are set to pocket €35m when he moves from Chelsea to Real Madrid this summer.
That’s according to Sport 1, who today provide details on the player’s impending free transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Yesterday we covered a report from Marca that stated Real Madrid were set to spend more than €60m on Rudiger, despite the fact he will be leaving Chelsea on a free transfer.
The German source, though, says the real figure will be €90m and they provide a detailed breakdown on the contract he is about to sign.
They say the Chelsea man has ‘made a decision’ and given Real Madrid his ‘verbal okay’ to join them when his contract at Chelsea expires in the summer.
He is set to sign a four-year contract with Madrid in the next few days, and that will see him earn exactly €6.8m net, around €13m gross, per season until June 2026. This figure does not include any bonus payments for performances etc.
Calculated over the term of the contract, he is guaranteed to earn €27.1m (€52m gross), a hefty figure for a free transfer.
Rudiger and his half brother Sahr Senesie, who works as his consultant, are also set to earn a signing bonus of €35m as well. A figure labelled ‘usual’ by Sport 1, but in reality, it’s far from it.
In total, the package of salary and signing fees will see Real Madrid pay €90m to sign Rudiger from Chelsea this summer.
