West Ham United ‘come forward’ to sign 22-year-old – Interest in player is ‘growing’

Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi’s development has seen clubs in Italy and abroad, including West Ham United, take notice.

After three season-long loan spells, the 22-year-old was included in manager Alessio Dionisi’s plans this term. Operating in the middle of the pitch, he scored four goals and registered three assists from 31 league appearances.

The clubs that are interested in the Italian ‘have increased over time’, and West Ham United are now keen.

That’s according to FcInterNews, who say the Hammers, AC Milan, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund ‘came forward’ for the player. However, Inter Milan are ‘in pole position’ to buy him in the summer.

Although David Moyes’ side and others are in the picture to sign the Sassuolo man, the Nerazzurri ‘maintain a significant advantage’ because Frattesi’s priority is to join the Serie A winners.

The Italian considers Inter’s project to be ‘ideal’ , and for the club he ‘represents the perfect backup of Nicolò Barella’.

The player’s wish alone is not enough for the San Siro club because Simone Inzaghi’s side have to find an agreement with Sassuolo to acquire Frattesi’s services. His preference to join Inter should give them a huge advantage in the transfer race.
