Leeds United are still tracking Ternana forward Felipe Avenatti following their failed attempts to land the player last summer. Avenatti could be sold this summer due to his contract expiring in 12 months.
Last week it was reported in the Umbrian media that Avenatti could be sold in this transfer window following his poor form last season, and if they want to get a decent fee for the forward then they would need to sell this summer.
Avenatti had run ins with the Ternana coaching staff last season, and in particular with their ex-coach Roberto Breda. Earlier this year Breda dragged Avenatti after just 30 minutes during a Serie B game, and the next day the player was made to train on his own.
However, since then Breda has left the club, and former Chelsea defender Christian Panucci has been installed as the new Ternana coach.
Panucci has only be with the Serie B side for less than a week so it’s unsure at the moment what his plans are for Avenatti, but it’s likely he will be key in whether the player remains at the club.
