Mikel Arteta saw his Arsenal side knocked out of the FA Cup on Sunday, as they lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest.
It was a disappointing performance from the Gunners, and it’s not unfair to say the Championship club deserved to be the side which progressed.
Arteta had changed some of his starting eleven, yet still Sead Kolasinac didn’t get on the pitch until the final minutes of the match.
The defender has a contract with Arsenal which expires at the end of the current season, and he’s now able to speak to other clubs about a free transfer.
The French newspaper say Kolasinac is ‘not really wanted by Mikel Arteta’ and therefore he’d be able to leave the Premier League club.
Marseille have already been in contact with the player’s representatives, however, it’s stated some details of a transfer seem ‘tricky’.
L’Equipe don’t make clear if that relates to freeing Kolasinac from his contract or to the deal he’d be asking for, although it’s likely one of the two.
