Everton ‘really like’ Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski, who could be sacrificed by the Italian club as they eye signings.
That’s according to journalist Gianluca di Marzio, who has revealed the Blues interest in the Swedish star in a piece for William Hill News in Italy.
He explains that Juventus are keen to add a striker to their squad and the man they really want is Gianluca Scamacca.
He’s currently starring for Sassuolo, who are not keen to lose him and have made it clear he won’t go for less than €30-35m.
The Bianconeri plan to sit down with their Italian counterparts to negotiate a deal and lock him down for a summer move.
That would solve their need for a striker and block the competition, such as Inter Milan, from getting him ahead of them.
They will need to raise funds to do, and this could be facilitated by some ‘disposals’ from the current squad, ‘above all’ the ‘sacrifice’ of Kulusevski.
He is ‘very popular’ in the Premier League, where Arsenal, Everton and Tottenham have all shown an interest.
The interest from the London duo is nothing new, they’ve been linked with moves for months, and that is likely to continue for some time.
Everton’s interest is new, though, and it fits with reports elsewhere that have made it clear Rafa Benitez wants to add a winger to his squad following the arrivals of Vitaliy Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson.
A right-winger to provide competition to Andros Townsend would make sense, and 21-year-old Kulusevski fits into the younger age bracket that the Everton boss appears to be targeting.
Now Di Marzio makes no mention of transfer fees or anything of that nature, but Juventus paid €35m to sign him and are likely to try and get most, if not all of that back if they can.
