Manchester United have had a very busy week. First Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined the club after his PSG contract ended, and then Ryan Giggs left the club where he’d become a legend.
Dortmund are clearly annoyed, but they always seem relatively polite when Bayern Munich snatch their best players.
After those two are likely to come more. Prior to Mkhitaryan even being linked to Manchester United, Andre Gomes had been one of the major stories.
Going quieter over the past couple of weeks, Gomes to Manchester United was really big news around a month ago, with it being claimed in Spain that Jorge Mendes would sort a transfer out for his friend and client Jose Mourinho.
Spanish newspaper AS cover the situation on Sunday, and they say Barcelona are now interested. Valencia’s asking price is said to be €65m, something which has gone up quicker than sterling has gone down recently.
AS say both Manchester United and Juventus have made offers for the Portuguese international, but point out both were rejected.
Gomes links to Manchester United have always seem a little too obvious, given the Mendes link, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if there’s some level of interest. Mourinho is keen on getting his signings in but even he may feel €65m is a little on the high side.
