Having suffered a defeat against Everton on December 6th, Arsenal bounced back with back-to-back wins in the league over Southampton and West Ham United.

Mikel Arteta left Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of squad for the last two matches for breaching club rules and also stripped him of his captaincy.

This has left the forward unhappy and his situation at the Emirates has seen him end up in Barcelona’s ‘orbit’ for January.

With the Gabonese star sidelined and Alexandre Lacazette having just over six months left on his contract, the Gunners are ‘actively looking for two attackers’.

This is what Jeunes Footeux are reporting and add the profile of a particular pair, FC Basel star Arthur Cabral and Lille’s Jonathan David, have ‘caught the attention of Arteta’.

However, it is ‘complicated’ for Arsenal to land either of them because the duo have attracted interest from other European clubs.

Cabral is on the agenda of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, while Liverpool are in the picture for the Canada international.

For Lille to let David leave the club, they would need ‘no less than €50m’.

However, the past deal of Nicolas Pépé, who arrived at the Emirates from the French club for £72m and has been something of a flop for the Gunners, could ‘encourage Arsenal to be cautious’.
