With only six months until the end of Edinson Cavani’s contract with Manchester United, we see more and more clubs joining the race to sign him for free at the end of the season.
Now it looks like the latest to get interested in the Uruguay star are Roma, with José Mourinho looking to land him in the summer.
The report comes from Repubblica, relayed by AS Roma Live, claiming the manager is looking for a new centre-forward and now decided to have the Manchester United man as a target. It’s claimed that Cavani ‘tickles the Portuguese’s fantasies’.
Now despite the chance of signing the 34-year-old with no transfer fee, Roma would still struggle to afford his big wages, meaning the move would only happen in case the striker accepts to reduce his salary.
Cavani is said to be looking for a place where he can be back on having regular playing time, as he’s lost space at Manchester United since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo last summer.
Roma should also know they’re in a heavy competition for the Uruguayan, since clubs from Spain and South America have also been strongly linked to him lately.
