Norwich City have endured a difficult start to the 2021/22 season. Managing only one league win and collecting five points from their first 11 league matches, the Canaries decided to cut ties with Daniel Farke on November 14th.

Dean Smith, who was sacked by Aston Villa last month, was appointed as the German’s successor. Norwich have picked up five points from their last four matches, while Farke has attracted interest from elsewhere.

On Thursday, Sport 1 journalist Patrick Berger reported the 45-year-old is ‘set to become’ the new manager of Beşiktaş. He also explained that Farke is set to sign a ‘long-term contract’ with the Süper Lig side.

A day later, Berger has again taken to Twitter to report Farke will not be joining the Turkish club. He claims the manager had ‘very good talks’ with Beşiktaş, but is not considering to job in Istanbul.

That’s because the former Norwich manager sees ‘winter as inconvenient timing’ to take up a new role.

Farke’s decision will force Beşiktaş to look at another managerial candidate. They are looking for a new coach after parting ways with Sergen Yalçın on December 9th.
