Last week, we covered reports from Brazil claiming that West Ham United are working on signing FC Basel star Arthur Cabral.
Outlet Goal reported that the Hammers had an online meeting with the player’s agents, when they became aware that the Swiss side demand €15m for his transfer.
Cabral has been doing great for Basel this season, with 25 goals and eight assists in 26 appearances, so there’s of course a battle for his signing.
And according to an update from Goal Brasil today, there are already two clubs who are about to make a bid for the striker. Those are one from La Liga and one from the Premier League.
Barcelona are the first, as they ‘signalled’ with an offer of €15m, which is exactly the price demanded by Basel, to be paid in three instalments of €5m.
Now there’s also an attempt from Newcastle, who informed those involved that they’re submitting a bid in the coming days. That’s expected to be ‘close’ to the Swiss side’s request as well.
Goal points out that West Ham have already made contacts for the signing, but despite giving the impression they could make a bid, their offer hasn’t been submitted yet.
With so much going on around the player, that’s surely a sign for the Hammers to hurry up and show what they can put on the table.
