Portuguese newspaper Record keeps insisting: Nelson Semedo is on his way to Manchester United.
In their Tuesday’s edition, they even give more attention to the right-back’s transfer than to Victor Lindelof’s, even though the latter is by far the biggest story in Portuguese football at the moment.
We’re still a bit skeptical about this.
This would be Benfica’s biggest sale ever, so it’s hard to believe that other outlets such as A Bola or O Jogo would be missing out on the story. In comparison, they’ve hardly said a word.
But Record are pretty confident, and say that Semedo’s transfer should be agreed before Lindelof’s.
Both players are said to be a “close step” from Manchester United, even though they don’t say if Semedo would be transferred in January or at the end of the season.
They don’t know the fee Manchester United will play, and don’t make it clear which transfer window Semedo would move in. It makes little sense for Semedo’s transfer to be agreed first if Lindelof is the one closer to actually moving.
It’s too few details for a transfer they’re so certain that is happening. But Record say it’s ‘imminent’, let’s wait and see.
