Real Madrid’s transfer ban was reduced to one transfer window after an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Following the announcement, it was only to be expected that Real Madrid would be linked to a few players.
Spanish radio channel Onda Cero reported Real Madrid have already contacted Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois over the possibility of signing him in the summer.
Spanish newspaper AS cover the claims on Thursday, and add that Real Madrid have received a positive response after contacting Courtois. The Belgian international has a contract until 2019 at Chelsea, and AS believe he has refused to sign a renewal.
Courtois is reportedly a top priority transfer for Real Madrid, and the Chelsea star is said to have also informed his friends that he’d like to sign for the Spanish giants, despite having played for their rivals Atletico Madrid.
The 24 year old has repeatedly spoken of his love for Spanish life, and it’d be no surprise to see him return there soon enough. If the claims are correct and Real Madrid did move to make Courtois their number one, pushing aside Keylor Navas, then it doesn’t take too much imagination to believe the Belgian would be keen.
