Victor Lindelof is set to become a father for the second time, which is great news for the Manchester United defender and his family.

However, for Sweden manager Janne Andersson it could prove to be an issue during the coming international break. The player is now the captain for his national side, and on top of that increased importance, he’s needed more for the coming matches because Filip Helander is injured.

The happy occasion is expected imminently, and Andersson hopes the baby arrives before the international break, meaning there’d be no worry about Lindelof potentially missing matches for his country.

Sweden’s Fotboll Skanalen quote the national boss as saying: “I hope the child comes here before but if it does not we will have to deal with it, but we will have new contact here at the end of the week where we will talk about it all.

“We obviously have a plan on how we will handle it if it is the case that something should happen. We will deal with it then, but as I said, I hope it happens this week. That would be good, and desirable.”

There’s no suggestion Lindelof could be unavailable for Manchester United matches, with Sweden’s concern related to their games against Kosovo and Greece.

Sweden are currently second in their World Cup qualifying group, and whilst they’re four points behind Spain they have two games in hand.

Only the group winner will qualify automatically.
