Arsenal scouts were in attendance at António Coimbra da Mota to watch the match between Estoril and Benfica, reports O Jogo.
O Jogo haven’t mentioned any particular player Arsenal scouts could be watching, and Arsene Wenger’s men usually scout Porto rather than Benfica.
Wenger has been linked with Ruben Neves and Andre Silva at Porto, but with Alexis Sanchez excelling upfront and Olivier Giroud and Lucas Perez as back-up, and a returning Danny Welbeck, Silva probably wouldn’t be a priority any longer.
Scouts from the North London club could be watching a number of players from Benfica, with Rafa Silva and Nelson Semedo among the possibilities.
Raul Jimenez was on the scoresheet for Benfica in a 1-0 victory, as they moved 7 points clear at the top of the league in Portugal. Whilst scouts don’t attend away matches quite as much, Estoril is also in the Lisbon area so it made some sense.
