A couple of days ago, we reported Claude Puel has been encouraged to reassess his January transfer window plans, after an injury to Charlie Austin.
Italian newspaper Il Mattino claimed Napoli’s Manolo Gabbiadini has emerged as a target for Southampton. The 25-year-old has also been linked to Everton and Stoke City, and it’s a developing story which has been turned into a battle by the Italian media.
Rai Sport journalist Ciro Venerato (via Area Napoli) has made an interesting claim on Gabbiadini’s future.
Venerato believes Wolfsburg and Southampton are ready to make an €18m offer for Gabbiadini, and are also in regular contact with his agent, Silvio Pagliari.
He adds Stoke City are also keen, but their offer is lower than that of Wolfsburg, Southampton and Schalke, whilst Borussia Dortmund also contacted his agent a couple of days ago to get information on the Italian forward.
Interestingly, there has also been claims in the Italian media that Stoke City have offered €18m for Gabbiadini, but Napoli are looking for around €23-24m.
There is no mention of interest from Everton by the Rai Sport journalist, but at this moment, it’s difficult to point out if there is any truth in these claims. Napoli are keen to sell for a big fee, and English interest would help them do that.
