As Everton midfielder James Rodriguez continues to sort his departure from the club, Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra seems to be the one with the hottest updates on the case.
A new report from him now says the player is currently having dinner in Doha, where his future could lie in case he gets to sign with a Qatari club.
Sierra writes that Rodriguez flew to the city because he was ‘not convinced’ of playing in the Middle East. That’s when Jorge Mendes suggested his visit.
The 30-year-old was told to get to know the town and the club, besides personally negotiating his new contract. There he should decide if he’s making the move or not.
Pipe Sierra insists that there’s no agreement for the transfer yet. Earlier today, he claimed that Everton had already ‘given the approval’ for the move as Rodriguez could even sign on a loan deal.
Even though many outlets say the club are Al-Rayyan, the reporter says he’s been told ‘it could be’, but hasn’t confirmed that information yet.
