Tottenham could be given the chance to sign summer target Nahitan Nandez in January, with Cagliari determined to cash in if they can.
That’s according to Italian journalist Nicolo Ceccarini, who say Tottenham were one of several clubs who ‘took steps’ towards signing the midfielder.
That is something we’re more than aware of at this point, with Nandez’s name regularly linked with a move to the Premier League throughout the summer transfer window.
Initially, it was Leeds who pushed for a move, but that soon fell away before Tottenham took up the mantle and pursued a deal towards the end of the window.
Now it seems they could be given a second shot, with Ceccarini reporting that if a ‘suitable offer’ arrives in January, then the Serie A side will sell.
He says they would like to ‘cash in as much as possible’ on the midfielder so that they can find a replacement and move on from him.
They know he would be ‘very useful’ to many teams, including those abroad such as Tottenham, and the suggestion is finding a suitor won’t be all that difficult.
Indeed the feeling is that the Uruguayan will be at the centre of the market once again come January, so expect rumours to start sooner rather than later.
