Belgium midfielder Dennis Praet has shared his delight at being back on the scoresheet after a ‘difficult’ spell with Leicester City.
The midfielder departed Leicester on loan to Torino on deadline day of the summer transfer window, having fallen down the pecking order under Brendan Rodgers.
He originally joined the Foxes in a £17.28m deal from Sampdoria in August 2019 and was a regular in his first season at the club with 36 appearances in all competitions.
Sadly that was not the case for him last year, though, as he managed 24 appearances and just over 1200 minutes of football in total.
He managed just one start after that, a fact which led to him leaving on loan in search of regular playing time in the summer.
That’s something he’s found at Torino, and he says his recent winning goal for Belgium felt like the icing on the cake.
“I’m obviously happy to have scored,” Praet told RTBF, relayed by Sport Magazine.
“It was not an easy game and the most important thing was to secure the win. The goal is the little icing on the cake.
“It feels good after a difficult period where I hadn’t played much. I was happy to be able to play and get that little goal.”
