Barcelona have asked Getafe to sanction a loan deal for midfielder Mauro Arambarri, who has also been on Manchester United’s radar this summer.
That’s according to AS, who today cover Barcelona’s efforts to reinforce their midfield on the cheap.
They say the Catalan giants have asked Getafe to sanction a loan deal for the midfielder, who could bring ‘muscle and work’ to their midfield.
Arambarri is a ‘personal request’ from technical secretary Ramón Planes, who signed him for Getafe, so knows all about him.
They are aware there is more than one suitor, with Atlético Madrid, Sevilla and Manchester United all having had him ‘on their agenda’ this summer.
That’s something we’ve seen before, with several reports back in May making it clear Manchester United were interested, and it even claimed a representative from the club had been in touch.
Nothing came of that, and now Barcelona are seemingly trying their luck with a loan offer that appears destined to be rejected outright.
Arambarri would love the move but knows that ‘very special conditions’ would have to be met for that to happen as Getafe, and particularly president Ángel Torres don’t want to weaken the squad.
