For a while now, Tottenham have been after Dusan Vlahovic.

The problem Spurs face, however, is that they seem reluctant to make a move unless Harry Kane is sold, which seems less and less likely as we near the end of the transfer window.

However, should that happen, there is no doubting Fabio Paratici would turn his attention to the Serbian, especially since Lautaro Martinez seems ever closer to renewing his contract at Inter.

The price they would need to pay Fiorentina to get Vlahovic, however, remains a big debate in Italy, but Rocco Commisso, the club’s owner, has clarified things.

Speaking to ANSA, and relayed by Calciomercato, the American businessman put his cards on the table for all to see.

He said: “About Vlahovic? If we talk about €100m or so, I will think carefully about it. It’s useless to hide it because it’s right to reiterate, especially to the Florentines, the pandemic has caused considerable economic damage to clubs and therefore also to Fiorentina. So in the face of certain figures, you can’t, just for the sake of it or be presumptuous, immediately turn your back on”.

So, in essence, it’s €100m for Vlahovic, although there are some who will doubt that figure, as Commisso was never going to say that a deal could be done for €80m, as that would see potential opening bids start lower.

With this tactic, he makes it clear he wants a lot of money for his star man in hope that clubs, like Tottenham, believe him and offer more money to kick negotiations off.
