Following some fantastic performances for Denmark during the 2020 Euros, Mikkel Damsgaard firmly cemented his place on the European scene.
Already a target for Tottenham even before Fabio Paratici and Nuno Espirito Santo arrived at the club, the Sampdoria starlet showcased his potential to the fullest as his country made it further than expected in the international competition, attracting the attention of other clubs, such as Leeds United.
This isn’t the first time Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been linked with the winger, but La Repubblica, relayed by Milan News 24, make their readers aware they haven’t forgotten about Damsgaard on Tuesday.
Explaining Tottenham are still on the case, the newspaper add that Aston Villa, set to lose Jack Grealish to Manchester City, have also joined the race, but ‘there’s also Leeds’.
As for Milan, they ‘won’t accept tussles’, suggesting they aren’t ready to be part of what could very well end up being an all-English auction for Damsgaard.
Either way, Leeds and Bielsa are very aware of his talent, and with a desire to bolster their attack with some more creativity, they seem to think he could be the right man to bring to Elland Road and develop under the Argentine.
They will, however, need to be careful of Spurs and co.
