Having just announced the signing of Patson Daka from RB Salzburg, Leicester City could continue their efforts to bolster their squad in Italy.
Clearly frustrated at narrowly missing out on Champions League football for the second time, the Foxes, led by Brendan Rodgers, are trying to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
One of the areas they needed extra bodies was in attack, where the striker’s arrival will relieve some of the weight placed on Jamie Vardy’s shoulders, while a right-winger could also be of use following the failed Cengiz Ünder experiment.
That’s why Domenico Berardi, who has been shining for Italy at the Euros, appears to be a target, with Leicester challenging the likes of Milan for his signature.
Corriere dello Sport explain on Wednesday that there are ‘in fact attempts by Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester’ to sign the winger, for whom Sassuolo want ‘around €40m’.
That’s a problem for Milan, although the Emilia club ‘could open to negotiations with the inclusion of counterparts’.
Leicester are one of many clubs to have ‘begun to ask for more information’, but Corriere seem to suggest they also lead the pack, since it’s them ‘over’ the others.
We’ll have to see, but it appears the Foxes really are going after Berardi.
