There’s not a great deal in the Spanish media on Wednesday regarding Junior Firpo moving to Leeds United, but that’s not because the potential transfer has weakened.
It’s largely being seen as done by the media surrounding Barcelona, and they’re moving on to covering other potential incomings and outgoings. Tuesday even saw claims that Firpo has been looking for a house, presumably online, in the Leeds area, so he’s well prepared ahead of his move.
AS do have an article, and they say the Premier League club will announce the signing ‘in the coming days’. Victor Orta is again credited with being the mastermind behind the summer switch, and the move is linked directly by AS to Ezgjan Alioski.
Alioski’s contract expires on Thursday, and if AS are right then Leeds United have grown tired waiting for an answer on his renewal. The Turkish press continue to link the fullback with a move to the Super Lig.
AS say Leeds will pay €15m, and there’s no mention of bonuses.
Firpo is set to sign a four year contract at Elland Road.
The 24-year-old is said to have rejected AC Milan, Napoli, Southampton and Brighton & Hove Albion to move to Leeds United.
