Hungarian midfielder Adam Nagy is wanted by several clubs in Europe, and could possibly be heading to the Premier League, according to reports in France.
Friday’s edition of L’Equipe say Southampton were in advanced negotiations to sign Nagy, before the arrival of Claude Puel.
Puel, however, has asked Southampton to put the negotiations with his club, Ferencváros, on hold.
It is reported Puel is keen on resolving the situation of the current players at the club, before making new signings.
Marseille and Benfica are also interested in the 21-year-old, and Southampton risk losing the player to the mentioned clubs should they keep him on hold for too long.
Earlier, L’Equipe reported Marseille had already agreed personal terms with the player, but have failed to agree a fee with Ferencváros so far.
