There are some transfer rumours that simply won’t go away from the Italian media, especially because agents continue feeding the stories.
That’s the case of Emerson Palmieri, who’s just been part of Chelsea’s squad which won the Champions League, and a couple of days later is already linked to a move.
The player’s new agent has been interviewed by Italian outlet CalcioMercato.it. Even though the conversation started with the European title, it quickly turned into one more transfer story for the 26-year-old.
“Emerson is delighted! Getting to such a level is enormous personal satisfaction. We’re talking about a boy who grew up dreaming of this goal, starting from a tough neighbourhood in Brazil,“ Fernando Malta told Calcio Mercato.
“Today, he’s a champion of Europe and has shared the joy with his family. A truly incredible goal: how many players can say they have won a Champions League?”
Palmieri has been linked to several Italian sides since his arrival at Chelsea. The latest report from the Italian media claimed he could be a target for Roma, who would take him out of Stamford Bridge for only €10m.
Since the Brazilian only made 15 appearances for the Blues this season, the fact he’s seldom used by Thomas Tuchel is pointed out as the biggest reason he’d actually leave the club this summer. Still, Malta claims the manager isn’t a problem.
“Due to his connection with the national team he has often been linked with important clubs such as Juve, Inter and Napoli. When a transfer window begins, there are always rumours about him. Now, Emerson needs to focus on the national team. This season with Chelsea has been very special. There was a change of coach: with Tuchel he has a great dialogue. Now, we need to understand what Chelsea’s next steps will be and what their future will be next season.”
