Everton target Yacine Brahimi is heavily wanted by Galatasaray according to Turkish newspaper AmkSpor. Brahimi’s future is up in the air after a disappointing start to the season with FC Porto, and the 26-year old is considering his options ahead of January transfer window.
We covered recent claims in the Portuguese press about the interest from Besiktas and Galatasaray and the Turkish media have also been covering these reports in the past few days.
In Turkey it’s been claimed Galatasaray are in pole position to sign Brahimi ahead of Besiktas, but Everton are still in the picture.
Everton wanted to sign Brahimi during Ronald Koeman’s first transfer window, but failed. There was disagreement over price and before things could be sorted out, the transfer window shut.
The Turkish media are trying to convince themselves a Galatasaray move is likelier. Gala would want a loan with a future transfer fee of around €10 million, according to AmkSpor and they’re expecting to finalise the deal next weekend.
These figures are much less than Everton reportedly bid, and if Koeman doesn’t swoop in to get the deal done now then it would present some doubt as to how keen they ever really were.
