Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira is having the final weeks of his spell at Lazio. Following his loan at the start of the season, he managed to get 30 appearances for the club so far, and now waits for his future to be sorted.

There’s now some doubt on whether the Serie A side will use the buying option they have over him or not. At the time the midfielder made the move, the Italian media reported a buying clause of €27m.

Speaking to TNT Sports Brasil this week, Andreas was asked about his situation, and claimed that he’s still to be told about Lazio’s decision on the transfer.

“What can I say… Manchester United, they decide. Lazio have the option to buy me from Manchester United. It’s in Lazio’s hands if they really want me to stay here,” Andreas Pereira told TNT Sports.

“I understood that they like me very much and want me to stay here. And I also liked the city, I felt really good. And of course, if it’s to play, to stay here, and of course, everyone wants to be important, to play more as a starter. I’d always like to stay here, I think Lazio are a great club.”

The midfielder claimed he’s been in constant contact with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and in case the Lazio move doesn’t happen, he will need to find a solution with Manchester United for his future beyond this season.

“But if it doesn’t happen, I’ll talk to Manchester. I always talk to the Manchester United manager too. And he said that we have to talk too. So it depends a lot on what happens with Lazio, if they decide, they have now until the end of the league to decide. If they don’t decide by then, I think I’ll have to talk to Manchester and see what the option is for me, for Manchester, and to see my future.

“Because I want, as I said, to have a chance to play a World Cup. I think I have to set things right for me so I can start playing for a team, so that I feel good and appear more in football.”

Pereira has one goal and four assists for Lazio this season. Despite getting involved in most games, he’s rarely a starter in Serie A.
