Simone Zaza’s future at West Ham has been a huge talking point in Italy. The Juventus forward has failed to make an impact for Slaven Bilic, and has failed to find the back of the net in 10 appearances.

Earlier, Zaza’s father confirmed West Ham will have to make his move permanent should he make 14 appearances for the London club.

While the Italian media expect West Ham to offload him at the earliest opportunity, with Napoli reportedly keen on him, according to a latest report he could stay at the Premier League club until the end of the season.

According to Sportmediaset, West Ham have no intention of letting go Zaza in January. Napoli aren’t too keen on signing Zaza any longer, and have other targets in mind. Scouts from the Serie A club haven’t been encouraged by the performances of Zaza.

Sportmediaset say West Ham must make Zaza’s move permanent once he makes 10 league appearances, and that isn’t clear at the moment.

Unless Zaza is showing something in training that he’s simply not on the pitch, West Ham’s determination to keep him seems a huge gamble. Zaza wasn’t West Ham’s first choice, he probably wasn’t in the club’s first five choices, and he hasn’t done well… throwing another €20m at the Italian would be a big show of confidence.
