Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is wanted by Boca Juniors, if a report coming out of Uruguay is to be believed.
Currently on loan at Atlético Madrid, the midfielder hasn’t been able to enjoy regular playing time in Spain this season.
According to ESPN in Uruguay, Boca Juniors ‘want to add’ the Gunners owned player to their squad.
Torreira’s contract at the north London club expires in 2023 and this would ‘make the situation difficult’ for the Argentine side. The player in the past expressed his love for Boca Juniors and ESPN believe this would help them ‘unblock’ any difficulties.
Claims made in Uruguay have also been backed up in Argentina by TNT Sports.
Journalist Martín Costa claims that in the ‘last few hours’, the ‘possibility of incorporating’ the 25-year-old at Boca Juniors ‘opened’ due to the player’s ‘personal situation’.
According to Costa, Boca Juniors have not yet moved and haven’t started any negotiations for his signing, so this seems to be building down to the player.
The possibility of a transfer has come up more from Torreira’s side rather than from the Argentine club.
