Manchester City are one of the clubs linked with FC Groningen’s Gabriel Gudmundsson.
Three days ago, Aftonbladet in Sweden verified the claims made in Italy about the Citizens having the 21-year-old on their radar.
A day later, the Dutch press backed up City’s interest in the left-back and stated next summer ‘seems to be the time’ for Groningen to make money from his sale since his contract expires in 2022.
Apart from Pep Guardiola’s side, Napoli, RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Ajax were also named as suitors.
Juventus are now added to the list, according to Calciomercato. The Turin club ‘think about’ the Sweden U21 international, which is why they and the Premier League side have ‘moved on him’.
The Old Lady are of the belief Gudmundsson can be Alex Sandro’s successor at the club. Apart from these two clubs, BVB, Leipzig and Napoli also get a mention.
Calciomercato add the Eredivisie side retain an option to further extend the player’s contract by a year. The duration left on his contract ‘could push Groningen to sell’ him in the next market.
