‘Did Newcastle lie regarding the injury of Miguel Almirón?’
That’s a question raised today by Paraguayan outlet Versus, who’ve been keeping an eye on the midfielder’s situation with the Magpies.
It all starts with his knee injury at the end of February. At that time, he was completely ruled out of his country’s matches for the World Cup qualifiers, which were supposed to take place next week.
Back then, Versus Radio interviewed national team goalkeeper Antony Silva, who claimed Almirón should actually be fit in time for those games.
“I spoke with Miguel and it’s not as much as they say about his injury. He told me that he’s fine and that he wants to be there.”
Now this week, Newcastle manager Steve Bruce confirmed to the English media that Almirón has a chance of playing against Brighton on Saturday.
